据了解，由世界权威钢铁专门分析机构“世界钢铁动态”在对全球三十二家钢铁企业进行了一系列的评估之后，总结出了去年一年这些钢铁企业的排名情况。在经过六年之后，韩国浦项制铁公司又再一次坐上全球“最具竞争力的钢铁公司”的宝座。我国的宝钢集团在此次排名中位居第八位。
此次的评估主要围绕企业规模、技术力量、收益等23个指标展开。浦项制铁由于在技术力量、财务健全性、成本竞争力、劳动操作熟练度等方面取得了很好的成绩，尤其是在去年全球经济的大环境下，坚持技术研发同时利用低价原料等改革措施取得良好效果，从而获得评估团的高度评价。
韩国浦项制铁公司在此次评估中获得7.84的平均分数，依次是印度钢铁管理局公司7.41分，俄罗斯新利佩茨克钢铁公司7.40、俄罗斯北方钢铁公司7.38、巴西国民钢铁公司7.30。
